Welcome Bowlers...On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Master Bowlers Association of Manitoba, I want to welcome you to the 2008-2009 bowling season. The upcoming season will be an exciting and challenging one for all our members. Starting this year, the new and revised coaching standards will be introduced under the NCCP. The new program will replace the current Level 1 and 2 programs we have all grown accustomed to. The good news is that each sport body will have 5 years to convert to the new program, so those of our members who currently have achieved these levels will be accepted as coaches for our national teams. However, we encourage all of our members to support the new coaching program, which will be available this fall. The Board will update all members during the year on any revisions to our coaching requirements. Perhaps the most exciting happening for the upcoming season is the fact that our wonderful sport will be turning 100 years old in 2009!! Those of us who are lucky enough to be involved in 5 pin bowling should be proud of our uniquely Canadian sport, and celebrate this wonderful centennial. I know there are a number of events planned, including Terry Burns” bowl across Canada, and a top 100 of all time list, so don’t be afraid to show you are proud to be a 5 pinner! I also want to ask you all for your continued support of our fund raising events, such as the Grey Cup tickets, and the Bud, Spud and Steak night. Thank you for your support, and have a great season!
